We can put off a lot of activities to avoid the spread of COVID-19, but pears wait for no one.

The Rogue Valley's signature agricultural crop is ready for picking or getting close, and that means armies of people working and living closely together in the orchards for a few weeks.

Jackson County's Emergency Operations Center is already geared up to assist orchard owners and crews in approaching the work in the safest way possible. Steve Lambert and Jackson Baures talk to the JX about the kinds of precautions that can be taken.
