Southern Oregon University

Many a college started up a women's resource center as the feminist movement of the 60s and 70s gained momentum.

Southern Oregon University was among them, setting up its WRC in 1976.  And it is still around, marking its 40th birthday on campus.

From comfort to advocacy to household supplies, the center offers a wide range of services.

Rosemary Dunn Dalton was the first Director of the Women's Resource Center back in 1976. She joins us with the 'W's current Coordinator Riah Safady and janelle wilson, Associate Director of Student Life for Social Justice and Service.

The 'W' celebrates a 40th birthday at 6:30pm on Saturday, May 21 with performances from Ashland Taiko Drum Group, SOU Poets and Slow Corpse.  The event is free and open to the public, in the Rogue River Room in the Stevenson Union at SOU, Ashland.
