Penguin Books

One of Jane Hamilton's college professors said Hamilton would write a novel one day.

The professor was not actually talking TO Hamilton at the time, but she certainly followed through.

The Book of Ruth won awards and got a boost from Oprah Winfrey's book club.

And she followed that success with the acclaimed A Map of the World

Ashland's Chautauqua Poets & Writers brings Hamilton to town for an event this evening (April 6th), and she visits the studio in advance.
