VENTSday: Net Neutrality + Oregon's Tax "Kicker"

Type "net neutrality" into a search engine, and get nearly 20 Million hits.

The topic heated up again recently when President Obama suggested the FCC should treat the Internet like a utility, so everybody pays the same rates; nobody pays more for higher speeds.  In other words, preserve the current state of net neutrality.

Vent on that in this week's VENTSday segment, or tell the world your thoughts on the tax "kicker" law that might return some of Oregon's tax collections to taxpayers.

VENTSday is our weekly "opinion swarm"… we throw a pair of topics on the table, and let listeners vent--politely--on those topics.

They can range from the global to the hyper-local, and all responsible opinions are welcome.  We bring the topics, you bring the opinions.

It's VENTSday on The Jefferson Exchange, and you participate by calling 1-800-838-3760 or emailing JX@jeffnet.org.

This week's topics again:

  • Net neutrality and whether it should be preserved.
  • Oregon's kicker law and whether it makes sense to give tax rebates rather than build a rainy-day fund.

We'll talk to you on the air!
