She learned about true crime stories from her TV news director father (and later Jackson County commissioner) Hank. 

April Henry managed to turn telling similar stories into a career.  She's a successful mystery writer, with a shelf full of books to her credit. 

And while she continues to crank out the books, she also takes time to talk about the creative process with high school kids. 

We catch her between engagements in her native Rogue Valley.
