Skills that many people in society once possessed are now a good deal rarer. 

Those of us who do NOT work with our hands but choose to do such work in our free time are considered "hobbyists." 

Unless we keep after the hobby, and it turns into a true vocation. 

That is the story Peter Korn lived, and the story he now shares in his book Why We Make Things and Why It Matters.
