The concept of protecting lands through conservation easements is well-established.

Property owners agree not to log (or farm, or mine, or whatever the easement specifies) their land far into the future.  A group in Oregon's Applegate valley called Speak For the Trees is working to reach conservation easements to protect forest land from logging.  Matt and Lydia Musselwhite join us to talk about how their effort differs from similar projects around the region.
