As It Was

JPR History Segment Makes History

Even people and programs that celebrate history can make a bit of history themselves.

So it is with "As It Was," the two-minute regional history program that airs weekdays on JPR (and immediately following the second hour of the Exchange).

The current series of "As It Was" airs its 3,000th installment next week.  And the people involved still like doing it.  Narrator Shirley Patton and Producer Raymond Scully join us in the studio, while coordinator Kernan Turner from the Southern Oregon Historical society visits by phone.

Geoffrey Riley is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and has hosted the Jefferson Exchange on JPR since 2009. He's been a broadcaster in the Rogue Valley for more than 35 years, working in both television and radio.
