New Wildfire Triggers Evacuations South Of Roseburg

UPDATE:J Friday, July 23, 7:52 p.m.

Per the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, all evacuation levels for the Green District Fire have been lifted. The road closures on Carnes Road and Hwy 99 have been lifted as well.

  • Landers Lane at Melody is still closed.
  • The area West of Landers Lane and Melody is still closed as well.

Anyone who may need assistance from the American Red Cross can call 888-680-1455.
Emergency crews are still on scene and are asking the public to be cautious when driving in the area.

Crews are fighting a grass fire near Rolling Hills Road in the Green District south of Roseburg, east of I-5. Some homes are reported to have been damaged.

A Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuation has been ordered by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office for homes to the east and northeast sides of the fire.

The Douglas Fire Protective Association has posted on Facebook that the forward advance of the fire has been stopped, but this could not be officially confirmed as of 7:35 Friday evening.
