Oregon Legislature puts up money to make homes (and residents) healthier

It's bad enough not having much money; things like heating and air conditioning can cost a lot. Couple the basic cost with the increasingly hot and smoky summers, and the need becomes greater. People can suffer and die from lack of air conditioning.

The Oregon Legislature created a Healthy Homes program earlier this year, designed to give low-income homeowners and renters grants to make heating/air conditioning systems more efficient and cheaper to operate.

State Rep. Pam Marsh of Ashland visits with details about this and the recent one-day special session on rent aid and other matters.
