The subways in New York City stop a few blocks south of the northern city line. Which is fine by Laura Galloway, because she was heading seriously north when she left, to a place no subway would go. Or many people, for that matter.
Galloway ended up moving to join her boyfriend in a small Norwegian town north of the Arctic Circle. And then, after six months, the relationship ended.
