Jackson County was already behind on keeping up with housing its population when the Almeda Drive and South Obenchain fires hit in 2020. The destruction of 2,500 homes added to the deficit.

Much rebuilding has already begun in the year since the fires, and now county government has opened up a Wildfire Victim Resiliency Permit Center, to help speed the process of getting permits for rebuilding.

Ted Zuk is the Director of Development Servicesfor the county; he stops by to talk about who is eligible to use the new WVRPC, and what it does.
