2020 was a special kind of year, and not in a good way.
The privations of the pandemic were forgotten briefly as fire swept through parts of the region, burning down thousands of homes.
The Almeda Drive Fire alone wiped out nearly 2,500 homes between Ashland and Medford. Recovery is proceeding apace, but fire scars are still very visible.
A group of nine writers, all women from the Rogue Valley, joined forces for the book Fire Fear Hope, a collection of pictures, prose, and poems, with artwork by Betty LaDuke.
Proceeds will go to United Way of Jackson County. Four of the creators visit: Ginger Rilling, Anne Batzer, Lois Schlegel, and Janet Boggia.
The book is available on Amazon (click title), Bloomsbury Books in Ashland, United Way in Medford, Book Exchange in Ashland, or by emailing Anne Batzer.
