Apparently the first documented use of the term "OK boomer" was in 2009, during The Great Recession. The source of the put-down, and Millennials' hard feelings toward the baby boomer generation, may be a reaction to how the government's financial recovery was constructed.
That's what Wall Street Journal columnist Joseph Sternberg says. He claims the boomers in charge made sure they were made whole, at the expense of younger generations.
