Keeping distance between people is a key to defeating COVID-19, but distance between students and schools is slowing down the learning process. The Grants Pass School District looked at the options and decided to bring more of its students back to school buildings, starting after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
But a week after that announcement, the district is forced to do an about-face, and put all students into comprehensive distance learning (CDL). Meaning even the students who had been in school part-time will now learn only from home.
Superintendent Kirk Kolb catches us up on the progress of the school year so far, and the measures that led to drastically different decisions just a week apart.
