Mon Sept 7 | Labor Day Holiday Specials

It's a longstanding American tradition, to observe Labor Day by giving workers a day off from their labors. We choose not to mess with tradition.

The JX crew loafs on Labor Day, leaving these pre-recorded segments from programs past for your perusal and pleasure:

At 8: an examination of immigration and the great resistance to it, now and historically. Our guest is historian and journalist Sasha Polakow-Suransky, the author of Go Back to Where You Came From: The Backlash Against Immigration & the Fate of Western Democracy.

At 9: a lighter touch from south of the state line, with a longtime travel writer for the Sacramento Bee. Sam McManis has moved on to a job in Arizona, but he compiled some of his best columns from SacBee in Crossing California: A Cultural Topography of a Land of Wonder and Weirdness.
