Peter Britt is famous for being the first person to photograph Crater Lake. But can we get a shout-out for William S. Parrott?

He was not a photographer, but a painter, and Crater Lake, Mount Hood, and other natural features were frequent subjects. Parrott's work is a focus of the research of Peter Boag, a historian at Washington State University.

Dr. Boag is our guest in this month's edition of Underground History, featuring Chelsea Rose of the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology.

We learn more about Parrot's art and life, which included stints in both Klamath Falls and Ashland.
