'Illegal' Comes To Online Ashland Film Fest

Living in El Salvador can be dangerous to a person's health. Laz Ayala figured that out years ago and got out, coming to the United States without official permission.

His pathway to a new home and to eventual citizenship is highlighted in the documentary film "Illegal." It is one of the offerings at this year's Ashland Independent Film Festival, running online through the end of this week.

The film by Nick Alexander widens the focus to the overall issue of immigration and labor and how those are tied together. Filmmaker and film subject visit.
