The lights went out suddenly. In the middle of March, a lot of things we did on a regular basis just stopped. And those include enjoying live music performances.
People who travel around playing and singing stayed home, and the places they usually played stayed dark. With the continued bans on large, close groups, there are challenges to the survival of music venues, as varied as Johnny B's in Medford and the Cascade Theatre in Redding.
