All eyes are on Congress as efforts to prop up the economy continue. But plenty of organizations are taking action locally, not waiting to see what Washington does.

Case in point: the United Way of Jackson County, which swung into action with a number of programs to help people and nonprofit organizations in need. It has required much of workers, volunteers, and donor organizations, as they scramble to respond to a crisis unlike any in a century.

Dee Anne Everson, Executive Director at United Way, talks to the JX about the COVID-19 fund set up to assist the community. Christina Kruger from Pacific Power joins in to talk about business support for the fund, and how individuals can help.
