Eugene Bullard sounds like a character from a movie, and not a totally plausible one, at that.  His careers and skills included boxing, spying, and flying fighter planes--the first African-American fighter pilot.

Of course, because of his background, he flew his fighter missions for another country, France.  His flight from the Georgia of his youth to his popularity on the world stage are told in the book All Blood Runs Red: The Legendary Life of Eugene Bullard-Boxer, Pilot, Soldier, Spy.  Tom Clavin wrote the book with co-author Phil Keith.  Clavin is our guest.
