A hard life, followed by what amounts to being thrown away: that's what lands a horse at the Equamore Foundation near Ashland. Horses and donkeys abused and then discarded come to Equamore to live out the rest of their lives in peace.

Equamore has been doing the work for 30 years now, and it's not cheap work: just consider the bill for feeding a single horse, multiplied several times.

CEO Linda Davis visits, along with Linda Cannon, president of Equamore's board.
