TIS Live performances combine nuanced storytelling with subtle performance art to present a professionally produced, high-quality program. These programs combine distinctive world music, often specifically created for the occasion, with inspiring storytellers who share their lived experiences. TIS Live creates two new shows each year, one in spring and one in early fall. They are professionally recorded and presented on the The Immigrant Story Live YouTube channel for public viewing.
A book titled "I Lived to Tell the World" by journalist Elizabeth Mehren, published in 2024 by OSU press, contains the stories of 13 survivors of war who came to Oregon. The book inspired "I Lived to Tell The World, Live," which is a theatrical production produced by The Immigrant Story, Live on Feb 1 and an exhibit at OSU ongoing until March 1.
