Black former American grieves and rages for the people she left behind

Tiffany Drayton was an American immigrant, but now she's an expatriate.

She grew tired of the constant binary black-or-whiteness of the United States, and moved back to Trinidad and Tobago, where she is simply a person. COVID-19, George Floyd, and more brought Drayton's attention back to the United States, and a sense of sadness and anger on behalf of Black Americans.

This is the story she explores in the book Black American Refugee: Escaping the Narcissism of the American Dream.

We spend an hour with the author exploring her history and her views.
