Indigenous Gardens Network featured in February Stories of Southern Oregon

Native Americans not only lost their homes, they lost their foods as well. Many of the foods tribes depended upon were eliminated from their diets and largely disappeared from the landscape.

The Indigenous Gardens Network is meant to reverse some of the changes, growing foods eaten by Native Americans.

IGN got a grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust to help the process along; Brook Colley from the Native American Studies program at Southern Oregon University is part of the process.

She is the guest in this month's edition of Stories of Southern Oregon, compiled by Maureen Flanagan Battistella. Maureen joins the conversation.
