Jesse Springer still poking fun at Oregon politics after 26 years

Jesse Springer is an artist living and working in Oregon, a place he finds "weird and traditional, urban and rural, liberal and conservative," and, with all of that, great fodder for political cartoons.

Springer started creating political cartoons in the mid-1990s. When he looked up not long ago, he had a quarter-century of cartoons, and a book to cover the best of them.

That would be Only in Oregon 1995 - 2021: 26 Years of Oregon Political Cartoons. Spotted owls, loggers, deadheads, Duck fans, and Keiko the killer whale all make appearances in the book.

Jesse Spring makes an appearance on the JX to talk about them.
