The rich chocolaty goodness of December's The Ground Floor

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Remember those chocolate bars from your childhood--the ones that started out all waxy at Halloween, and by Christmas they were... well, still all waxy?

Forget them for a bit, because this week's episode of The Ground Floor, our business segment, features a very different product.

Scharffen Berger Chocolate is built for taste, not shipping ability. It's a bean-to-bar process that starts with the Ashland-based company finding sources for cacao beans.

Scharffen Berger's history is an interesting one, featuring a sale to Hershey's and a spinning off back into a separate company.

Chris Spirko, General Manager and CFO, is our guest.

The Ground Floor is produced by Cynthia Scherr at Scherr Management Consulting.
