Humboldt State University enrolls thousands of students every year, and many of them live off-campus.
As in many college towns, relations between student renters and local landlords can be bumpy, to put it mildly.
So HSU put together a program for all the people involved in housing to get an education together. "Living in Community" is free to students, landlords, and anyone else in the community, all of whom can take the course free of charge.
Chant'e Catt, who broke new ground as the first community housing advocate on a California State University campus, gives a fuller description of the program and its facets.
