As the month of July began, new cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County had dropped down to 67. For a whole week.
By the second week of August, the county was reporting four times that many cases. In a single day.
In fact, the 267 on August 10 was followed by another 247 on August 11. That's the same time Oregon's governor announced the resumption of an indoor mask requirement.
