Back To Weekly: Dr. Shames Answers COVID Questions Amid Steep Rise

Mario Tama

As the month of July began, new cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County had dropped down to 67. For a whole week.

By the second week of August, the county was reporting four times that many cases. In a single day.

In fact, the 267 on August 10 was followed by another 247 on August 11. That's the same time Oregon's governor announced the resumption of an indoor mask requirement.

Dr. Jim Shames, Jackson County Medical Director, had gone to monthly visits with us about COVID. Now we go back to weekly Q&A sessions, as long as the danger remains high.
