Living On The Cutting Edge Of Climate Change (Yes, Here)

As the fire burns tree after tree, the helicopter drops water onto the burn from a nearby lake. It happens all the time, but this year in our region, the woods are drier and the lakes less full because of drought.

Add in this summer's new high-temperature records, and it's hard to argue that climate change is a thing for the distant future.

Chris Funk, a climate scientist at the University of California-Santa Barbara, takes stock in the book Drought, Flood, Fire: How Climate Change Contributes to Catastrophes.

The author joins us to focus on the impacts our region is feeling.
