There is frequent chafing in our part of the world about the extent of federal ownership of the land, especially during fire season. It is often federal forests where wildfires start and grow.
Several years ago the State of Oregon, through the Oregon Department of Forestry, started a Federal Forest Restoration program to coordinate restoration efforts between all levels of government.
A recent monitoring report updates the accomplishments of the program, in acres treated, board feet yielded, and jobs created.
