A Guide For White People To Have Discussions On Race

One common reaction when a white person hears a story of discrimination from a black person: "did that really happen?"

If it doesn't happen to us--humans are the "us" here--we have trouble imagining it happening to anyone.

Fern Johnson and Marlene Fine give the imagination a boost in their book Let's Talk Race: A Guide for White People. Johnson and Fine are white parents to Black children, so they bring a unique perspective to the issue.

The authors visit to lay out that perspective and provide a guide for us to follow.
