A BIPoC Sanctuary For Ashland

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Somewhere between Ashland's Klan-parade past and "I don't see colors" is the reality of racial harmony today. Kokayi Nosakhere has spent several years of activism on Ashland, trying to convey a message about how people of color are treated by some members of the community.

He and the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship teamed up to create a non-profit Ashland BIPoC Sanctuary. It is what it sounds like, a place for Black and Indigenous people and People of Color to be apart from whiteness in a positive way.

The founders of the sanctuary visit to discuss its goals.
