Bigger, Smaller, Bigger Again At The Cascade-Siskiyou Monument

Bureau of Land Management
Pilot Rock is one of the main physical features of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.

Another president, another possible fate for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.

President Clinton created the monument where the Cascades and Siskiyous meet, southeast of Ashland. President Obama expanded the monument, President Trump vowed to shrink it again. Now comes President Biden, who has instructed the Interior Department to review the status of several monuments, including the Cascade-Siskiyou.

Dave Willis, a longtime proponent and chair of the Soda Mountain Wilderness Council, visits to talk about the current situation, joined by Susan Jane Brown of the Western Environmental Law Center.
