The Effects Of The 'Great American Outdoors Act'

Oregon Natural Desert Association
Steens Mountain, in the Oregon high desert.

We love the outdoors, but we don't pay much to preserve it. Or didn't, until recently.

The passage of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) guarantees nearly a billion dollars every year to the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which Congress frequently failed to fully fund. The act also includes money for national parks and forests.

LWCF Coalition Manager Amy Lindholm and Appalachian Mountain Club CEO John Judge come on the air to talk about what the GAOA does... and does not do.
