Even the people who agree that humans cause climate change and want to act upon that knowledge come at the problem from different angles.
And in some cases, the difference is built in: climate change does not affect all people equally. This is a point you immediately get if you lack air conditioning in your house or car (or lack a house or car).
Brandon Derman, who teaches environmental studies at the University of Illinois-Springfield, lays out the points in a textbook called Struggles for Climate Justice: Uneven Geographies and the Politics of Connection. The author visits to add detail to climate inequality and pathways to resolving it.
