Summer is a time for reading for a lot of people; a lazy hot day is a great time to grab a book and find a shady spot for a read.
The pandemic smacked bookstores hard; browsing books brings people closer than health regulations allow. But enough of our local stores are still operating to allow the return of our Summer Reads segment.
This week, it's Mendocino Book Company. Toni Wheeler from the shop shares her list of recommended books with us.
Toni's list:
- Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy
- Flyaway by Kathleen Jennings
- Creatures by Crissy Van Meter
- The Beadworkers by Beth Piatote
- Empire of Wild by Cherie Dimaline
- Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix
