Book lovers often relish the leisurely browse in a bookstore as much as the act of reading. And there's one more thing the pandemic has changed; many bookstores closed for at least a little while, and reopened with limits on customer numbers and/or browsing time.
But enough of our local stores reopened to allow the return of our Summer Reads segment. This week, it's Rebel Heart Books in Jacksonville.
Eileen Bobek and Marcella Bell from the shop share their list of recommended books with us.
Here it is:
- The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
- Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson
- Crazy Brave by Joy Harjo
- Black is the Body by Emily Bernard
- The Cooking Gene by Michael W. Twitty
