We clearly can't get enough of Ellen Peters this year. The University of Oregon professor, who directs the Center for Science Communication Research (SCR), is all about assisting the people who understand science in explaining it to the rest of the world.

She takes up the issue of numeracy--think of it as literacy in numbers--in a new book, Innumeracy in the Wild: Misunderstanding and Misusing Numbers.

Some recent examples of numbers being misused spring to mind, especially regarding COVID-19 and its spread.

We welcome Dr. Peters back to The Exchange for her third visit this year.
