One of the major changes in mental health care in our country is the move away from "warehousing" people with mental illness. The gigantic state hospitals that held thousands of people are mostly a memory.
But state hospitals still exist, on a smaller scale. And being discharged from one can still lead to problems for a person not used to living among the general public.
That's the essence of the story Robert (no last names) tells in this month's Compass Radio, our collaboration with Southern Oregon Compass House. You'll hear from Robert and SOCH Executive Director Elizabeth Hazlewood.
