California is going for the big enchilada in passenger trains, true high speed rail.
Oregon's ambitions, like its population figures, are a bit more modest. But the state is in the process of making plans for improved passenger service between the Portland and Eugene areas, and the process includes a series of open houses beginning with one at the Eugene library tonight (Tuesday, Nov. 5).
