Stories Of Southern Oregon: The Two Mountains Of The Arnold Family

Vern Arnold
Some of the Arnolds, early in the 20th Century.

Shiny rocks brought a lot of people west in the 19th century, with gold and silver strikes igniting dreams of riches.  Vern Arnold's ancestors ran a gold mining operation not that long ago in the Applegate Valley.

This month's edition of Stories of Southern Oregon brings Vern into the studio with SOSO curator Maureen Flanagan Battistella.  We hear some of the tales of his family and how they came to have not one but two mountains named after them.
