Back in 2006, a group of cellists in Portland got together for what they thought would be a one-off performance at the Doug Fir Lounge. It wasn't. Rather, it was the beginning of a long and expansive journey featuring over a hundred different members and well over a thousand different pieces of repertoire.
Recent projects for the group include an homage to the English rock band Radiohead, and an upcoming tribute to the late Prince. In the studio, PCP pared down to a five-piece (Skip vonKuske, Diane Chaplin, Douglas Jenkins, Kevin Jackson, and Lauren McShane) to perform an eclectic set of pieces ranging from traditional jazz to classical.
