Estère (aka Estère Dalton) creates a blend of music she refers to as "electric blue witch hop."

The singer and songwriter started out in her bedroom, making beats in her pajamas instead of studying for University. Her tool of choice was Lola, an MPC (music production center). It's a controller device with touch pads that can trigger various sampled sounds. For those, Estère scoured the web and record various sounds from her own local environment.

In an effort to describe all of the various elements that flavor her music, Estère chose "Electric Blue Witch Hop." It covers electronica, the synesthesia of the color blue, the magical, ethereal components, and her love of hip-hop and heavy bass.

She played us a few tunes from her latest album called Archetypes from her home studio.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
