Singer Eric Earley from Portland's Blitzen Trapper joined us from his home to share a couple of songs from the band's brand new album Holy Smokes, Future Jokes.

During the pandemic shutdown, singer/songwriter Eric Earley has been hard at work outside of music, both at a shelter organization called Do Good Multnomah, and on some artistic endeavors at home. And while live performances are currently on the back burner, Blitzen Trapper still has new music to share..

Holy Smokes Future Jokes (their first album on Yep Roc Records) is inspired by the concept of 'cosmic humility' - which Earley describes as the idea that we (humanity) are not the center of the universe as we often believe, but instead just a nanosecond in the grand scheme of the universe.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
