Fred Astaire’s dancing was so spectacular that we tend to forget that he was also an Oscar winning actor and one of the best singers of all time. He was George Gershwin’s favorite singer. Also Jerome Kern’s and Irving Berlin’s. As a singer, Fred introduced over 150 songs to the American songbook, more than anyone else. Join us as we celebrate his legacy with songs like “Fascinating Rhythm,” “A Foggy Day in London Town,” “They Can’t Take That Away from Me,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” “A Fine Romance,” “Night and Day,” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It” “A Tribute to the Life and Music of Fred Astaire” stars David King-Gabriel & Rebecca K. Campbell on vocals and narration. They are backed up by Brent Olstad on Keyboard, Steve Fain on Bass, Michael Vannice on Sax, Clarinet & Flute, and Steve Sutfin on Drums. Sound Design is by Tom Frederick of Cabin Fever Sound. Livia Genise directs the show, with musical arrangements and musical direction by Brent Olstad and a script by Charles Cherry.
