Jefferson Public Radio (JPR) is Southern Oregon University’s network of public radio stations. JPR extends the University’s regional outreach and educational mission by facilitating lifelong learning, fostering the arts, strengthening citizen participation in the democratic process and promoting the University’s programs.
Position Summary:
The Receptionist provides customer service to JPR listeners and community members and acts as a hub for JPR staff support and office maintenance. This is an on-call position in the event that the Audience Services Coordinator is not available to work the front desk.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience in customer service. Excellent demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with JPR programming.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize diverse tasks. Sufficient computer skills, including MS Office applications and E-mail. Ability to work consistent with established policies and procedures.
Duties:
Reception/Public Relations: Answer incoming telephone calls and emails; respond to general questions regarding JPR programming, policies and procedures. Greet all in person visitors to JPR, route calls, emails and in person visitors to appropriate staff person(s). Communications may include answering routine inquiries for information, regular communications with the public and receiving complaints and resolving/redirecting them.
Office Support: Provide general administrative support for all JPR and JPR Foundation departments.
Office Maintenance: Assist with coordinating service requests through SOU Facilities Management. Oversee JPR kitchen and administrative areas for daily coffee preparation and general tidying.
Website Management: Review JPR Community Calendar daily.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Salary: $12.75/hr
