JPR Live Session: Liz Longley & Barnaby Bright

Ways To Subscribe

Long time friends Liz Longley and Barnaby Bright (aka Nathan and Becky Bliss) joined up for a special holiday-themed JPR Live Session to perform songs from their new holiday albums.

Liz Longley's new holiday EP A Little Magic came about as a bit of a bonus project following a massively successful Kickstarter campaign for her latest album Funeral For My Past. Longley debuted a few of the tunes from that album for us a year ago. Graced with a generational voice, Longley's EP features an orchestrated cover of "Let There Be Peace On Earth," plus five originals ranging from the cheeky (Gettin' Away for the Holidays) to the poignant (Feels Like Christmas).

For Barnaby Bright, the husband-wife duo of Nathan and Becky Bliss, the last couple of years have been a bit of a back-on-track process. After a fan-funded album a few years ago didn't turn out the way they'd hoped, the subsequent re-do as well as some non-musical circumstances threatened to derail the music. But in 2019, Barnaby Bright returned with a self-titled full length album, which has now been followed up with Bleak Midwinter, a stunningly beautiful collection of original holiday tunes and traditional classics.

Longtime friends and collaborators, we asked both Longley (in Nashville) and Barnaby Bright (in Kansas City) to join us for a special holiday live session.
