Growing up in Miami as the son of Cuban immigrants, the music of Malo's early life was extremely varied and impactful. He heard the sounds of Cuban music, classical and opera, and even country music. It was a home where no musical choices were ever impuned. (His dad wasn't a big fan of Led Zepplin, but he tolerated everything).
That variety of influences shows up across the Mavericks' catalog. It's a unique sound in the music world. But one thing the band has never done in their 30-year history is record an album of all Spanish-language songs... until now.
