JPR Live Session: Pharis & Jason Romero

Ways To Subscribe

Husband/wife folk duo Pharis & Jason Romero shared songs from their new album Bet On Love from their home in rural British Columbia, complete with wood stove in the background.

Over the course of a half-dozen albums, the duo Pharis and Jason Romero have captured the hearts of traditional folk music fans around the glove. The two-time JUNO award winners (for Best Traditional Roots Album) have just released Bet On Love, a beautiful collection of songs that showcase the interplay not only between their two voices, but the instrumental lines as well.

Their home in rural British Columbia (Horsefly) is adjacent to Jason's newly rebuilt banjo workshop (www.romerobanjos.com), where he turns out some of the most prized instruments in the banjo world. Just a few years back, the shop burned to the ground, destroying a collection of finished instruments awaiting shipment, as well as some prized historical guitars from their personal collection.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
